SoCal Wildfire Support: SustainAble Exchange and its Mission-Driven Members
SustainAble Exchange and our mission-driven members are committed to assisting first responders and LA County residents during this crisis. Devdent, Ripple, and HearMe will be our initial group of member companies providing support to LA residents in respiratory, sleep, and mental health.
The fires in LA County and the surrounding area led to smoke and particles in the air that may severely impact respiratory function and sleep. Many people may have CPAPs or other devices for nighttime breathing assistance lost in the fires. Many residents with respiratory and sleep issues may not have devices to assist with nighttime breathing. Populations in the LA area that are at higher risk of respiratory complications, plus underserved markets, need immediate support in critical areas of breathing and sleep.
Residents of LA County and surrounding areas may also be suffering from high levels of stress and anxiety. Excessive stress and anxiety hurt health and happiness. We want to help.
Joe Magness (CEO of Devdent & Ripple) and Adam Lippin (Founder of HearMe) are stepping up to support first responders and LA residents. Please see below for information on the support provided by Devdent, Ripple, and HearMe.
Devdent & Ripple Support for LA County
Breathe Better, Sleep Better, Live Better
What is the most important thing all humans do? BREATHE! Every cell in our bodies relies on oxygen to survive; if we don't breathe, we will die within minutes. Most importantly, the quality of our breathing determines the quality of our sleep. Healthy sleep plays a key role in our immune system, metabolic and reproductive hormones, and brain's ability to rest and recharge.
Unfortunately, the degradation of our environment has led to increased health issues. Recent fires have elevated this danger around Los Angeles. The fires have released high levels of smoke and toxic chemical exposure from the burned homes, buildings, cars, etc. The increased exposure to toxins has resulted in hospitalization even for those outside of the burn areas, putting many in the impacted area at a higher risk of heart attacks, strokes, and respiratory complications. For many LA residents, the stress and uncertainty of the future, combined with the current toxic air, has created a health crisis.
We are here to help you improve your health through the quality of your breathing and sleep. Your respiratory system can be the first line of defense against microscopic pollution, but you must breathe correctly to see any benefit. Our solution helps you to breathe through your nose, improving your jaw and tongue position while protecting against the natural loss of muscle tone. This allows you to filter every breath, leading to better sleep and overall health.
Devdent and Ripple have coordinated with local LA healthcare providers to expedite the delivery of products at a substantially discounted cost. They can work closely with those in need of additional financial support. After visiting a local provider, we will arrange a sleep test and a telemedicine appointment with a board-certified sleep specialist who will help you identify the ideal treatment for you - from oral appliance therapy, nasal dilators, CPAP, or oxygen therapy. Better breathing and more restorative, healthy sleep will be an impactful first step toward better health and help energize you for any challenges that come your way.
